AGM 2025

Dear Members,

I hope this finds you well!

Thanks to those members who attended our 2025 AGM, and a huge thank you to those who put their hands up to fill in the gaps in our committee requirements! We appreciate your participation and look forward to seeing you on those committees.

N.B. AGM Transportation Expense Claims – i.e. Expense Claim Example

Last night’s meeting was a success. Our 2025 budget and 2026 provision budget passed.

Additionally, your Executive remains intact, ready to serve!

Finally, I look forward to see as many of you as possible at our Holiday event on Thursday, November 27th (Friday at 4:00 is the deadline to RSVP) and I look forward to see our LOY members at the Coffee break next Monday, in the SP lobby at 10:15.

Should we not have the opportunity to see each other before then, let me take this opportunity to wish you all a safe, holiday season!

-Shoshana Kalfon, President of CUPEU

Back to School

The 2025 Concordia Shuffle is right around the corner. Join in and CUPEU will give 20$ to each member who participates. Don’t forget to add that extra 20$ and after the event the University and CUPEU will reimburse you. Happy Shuffling!

Summer Event Recap

The outdoor summer event on the terrace ended up being indoors this year. However, the weather did not put a damper on the spirit of the attendees. The burgers and sausages were sizzling, the salads were nice and refreshing, while the drinks helped with the long week some of our members were having. Overall, it was nice to see familiar faces and get to meet new members as well.

We have received some good feedback for next year’s event and we will do our best to implement some changes. Unfortunately, there were still a few no-shows and the newly approved policy will apply for the holiday party.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event.

Organizing Committee

Dear Members,

I hope this finds you well as we enter the summer season.

2024-25 was an eventful year:

We continued and completed our negotiations on the 2018-2023 CA (there was an extension of the 2018-21 CA due to COVID from 2021-2023), culminating in a strike, for the first time in our history. Our goal, to enshrine a hybrid work environment that reflects current working practices, was achieved against all odds.

We find ourselves in a challenging environment with both internal, and external, factors directly impacting not only the University, but all of us as well.

Alas, CUPEU members should be proud of their efforts and commitments towards supporting the University’s mission as well as our livelihoods.

As we end the academic year, I want to thank those of you who have taken advantages of some of our benefits:
  • PD fund – members are continuously looking to upgrade their knowledge base and learn from others with the many opportunities that exits
  • Coffee breaks – a great opportunity to connect with other CUPEU members to discuss any concerns
  • Reaching out to your Executive with any questions or concerns that you have!

Know that your Executive is here for you; We always encourage members to share their thoughts and feelings with us. We are always striving to keep you well informed and properly engaged.

Please look out for an upcoming invite to our summer event.

Wishing you all an enjoyable summer,

Shoshana
President of CUPEU
