Special General Assembly
|
Following yesterday’s email, we have the following updates for our in-person Special General Assembly:

- Please take note of the change in time of the meeting. The meeting will now take place from 2:00PM-5:00PM.
- Members must be at work for at least four hours – this will allow you to leave your place of work by 1:00PM to travel to the meeting venue.
- The meeting venue is:
- L’Olympia,
- 1004 rue Ste. Catherine E.,
- Montreal, QC H2L 2G2
- Transportation:
- Loyola members:
- Will have the option to take a provided bus, courtesy of the CSN
- This school bus will be stationed near the AD parking lot on Sherbrooke
- The bus will be there for 1:00PM
- The bus will leave between 1:10-1:15PM
- The bus will return to Loyola after the assembly is over
- SGW members:
- Will have the option to take public transportation or their own car
- Members who do not normally travel with public transportation, or those who choose to take their car, will have access to $10 to cover travelling costs (this money will be dispersed at some point in the next week or so)
- As there is construction near the venue, it is strongly recommended that members use public transportation
- Members who choose to not attend the Special General Assembly are expected to remain at work (release time is only given for those who attend and sign-in at the Special General Assembly)
- Doors will be open by 1:30PM
- Members must be good standing and must sign-in to participate in the Special General Assembly
- The Special General Assembly will begin at 2:00PM
- The presentation will include a recap of negotiations, the Employer’s Global Offer, and time for questions and comments (please note, that we hope to take questions first, and then comments, to allow members the opportunity to make an informed vote (this part will be monitored for time)
- Following the vote, the ballots will be counted (you are free to stay for this)
- The results (accept or reject), and the implications of the vote, will be communicated to you via email following the counting of the ballots
Should the membership accept the offer, CUPEU members will be expected to return to work on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Should the membership reject the offer, CUPEU members will be on strike as of Wednesday, September 4, 2024. CUPEU will resend an updated strike schedule to members Tuesday evening.
