1. Collective Agreement Extended

CUPEU and Concordia University have agreed to a contract extension which provides the following additional increases and benefits to our Collective Agreement this June:
  • a 2.6% salary increase, followed by a 2.4% salary increase on June 1, 2022.
  • 2 days of paid family leave.
Thank you to those who attended last February's Online General Meeting. Your participation in ratifying this contract extension offer reflects the membership's interest in promoting job security, fair wages and compassion as professional employees of Concordia University, especially at this time.

2. Your office computer

By now you know that SentinelOne is installed on your Concordia-managed computer. While the university promotes using the security end-point platform to protect your work computer, keep in mind that this involves a high degree of activity tracking. As in the office, please use your university-issued computer in a professional manner solely to conduct Concordia-related work.

3. Professional Development – Round 1

Want access to $4,757.10 to touch up on your professional skills? Apply for the CUPEU professional development fund!

Here's what eligible members have successfully requested funds for this past year:
  • online conferences / workshops / courses
  • books / magazine subscriptions / software
  • membership / association dues
For tips and more information on the application process, VP Special Projects and PD Committee member, Douglas Chananda will be hosting a live info session on Zoom this Thursday from 12 - 1 p.m.
Meeting ID: 833 2019 4628

In light of COVID-19, note that:
  • the Professional Development Committee adheres to the university's position on work-related travel for staff.
  • the fund does not cover equipment-related expenses, per article 10.12.b. If you need office equipment to optimize working from home, contact your supervisor.
If you can't apply this time, consider these future dates:

4. Newsletter help

If you have the time, please check and see whether these newsletters are in your Outlook account (ie. the "Other" mailbox in the "Focused emails" viewing mode) and let us know of the ones you didn't get. Feedback will be helpful – we intend to provide this information to IITS hoping to make the case for restoring our formerly high open rates, before last summer's Outlook 365 migration.
