President's Note: EHS, Unity and news from CSN

Dear members,

Although belated, I would like to wish all of you a healthy, successful New Year!

As you know, there was a return to campus on February 3, 2022. Many of us continued to work on campus following the return in the fall term while others may just be returning to campus, over the next little while. In either case, I would like to remind you that EHS protocols are still in place.

Although things are changing, and will continue to do so, until advised, departments and units are expected to follow the EHS plan put in place in early September. If you have not seen your department’s plan, please speak to your manager. All staff have the right to see their department’s plan. EHS must review and approve any changes to the formal approved plan.

As well, you may have had the opportunity to use the new Unity platform by reviewing your paystubs, requesting vacation, etc. Please take the time to review your personal details and your vacation/personal day details to ensure that the information is accurate.

Finally, I'd like to direct members to a new page on our website dedicated to updates from the Fédération des professionnèles (FP) and the CSN (Confédération des syndicats nationaux or Confederation of National Trade Unions) located beneath "News" section on cupeu.org's main menu. Check this space for news on the latest developments and announcements from the FP and CSN organizational network of university professors and professionals.

Although we are not yet back to normal, and many of us are still unsure of what the future holds regarding COVID-19, please note that your Executive Committee is working hard to ensure that we work in a healthy and safe environment and that, as much as possible, our working conditions reflect the current circumstances.

Best,
Shoshana

In light of COVID-19, note that:
