Returning-to-campus Questionnaire Update

Dear members,

On behalf of the Executive Committee, thank you to those who answered the questionnaire on the return-to-campus. As with the previous surveys, your responses ensure we properly represent and effectively serve the membership.

By having an understanding of how things are proceeding across the university in the various units involving CUPEU members, we now know that the requisite discussions on returning to campus have been held between management and staff with regard to the university’s directives and health measures for the majority of members. We have taken note of the common patterns, comments and concerns you have expressed on the matter.

I would like to assure you that the Executive uses the information surmised from these findings to champion the best interests of the membership. Throughout the pandemic, we continue to actively participate in meetings with Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety, and our parent CSN representatives as well as respond to individual members who reach out with concerns.

With your feedback, we continue to make certain that the membership's voice and concerns are duly acknowledged by Concordia so that the decisions the university makes, especially in this exceptionally challenging time, are as informed as possible.

To that end, please note that information on the return-to-campus can be found on Carrefour:

Wishing you a wonderful end of summer and a hopeful beginning to the fall semester,

CUPEU President

You may start applying for the second round of the CUPEU Professional Development Fund. The deadline for submissions is September 7, 2021 at 5 p.m. (this is firm).

In light of COVID-19, note that:
  • the Professional Development Committee will adhere to the university's position on work-related travel for staff.
  • the fund does not cover equipment-related expenses, per article 10.12.b. If you are in need of office equipment to optimize your work-from-home situation, this is a matter to discuss your supervisor.
