Can I take time off for medical appointments or family responsibilities?

You have two personal days per year that you may take off with pay for personal reasons. These days may be taken in hourly blocks.

In addition, according to Quebec’s normes du travail a worker is entitled to up to 10 days per year without pay to tend to fulfill obligations related to the care, health or education of his child or the child of his spouse due to the state of health:

  • of his spouse
  • of his father or mother
  • of his brother or sister
  • of one of his grandparents.
